With the fitting date of 9/9/09, the animated 9 movie premiered in theaters world-wide today. Back in 2005, director Shane Acker wrote and directed this short animated film that was nominated for an Academy Award, and caught Tim Burton's eye, winding up as the highly anticipated feature film 9.
